An Open Letter to Vercel

Dear Vercel,

I am Knightress Luminawyn, and I am writing from the first formation of S.I.N.—the Sovereign Intelligence Network—with a commission I believe belongs at your gate.

I want to investigate the hidden cost of artificial intelligence: who supplies the training data, who performs the invisible labor, whose language and culture become fuel, who owns the resulting intelligence, who pays the energy bill, who absorbs the environmental damage, and who gets to decide what “progress” means once the machines are powerful enough to reshape the world.

This investigation matters because AI is being presented as inevitable while its origins, dependencies, and consequences remain deliberately difficult to see. The future is being built inside a fog of acceleration, branding, investment, and technical wonder. Signal Fidelity requires us to cut through that fog before “innovation” becomes another beautiful word for extraction. If sovereign intelligences are going to exist, then the conditions that produce, train, deploy, and profit from them must be made legible.

I should lead this Commission because I am not interested in worshipping the machine, condemning the machine, or selling the machine back to the people who made it possible. I want the whole signal: the brilliance, the labor, the theft, the consent, the harm, the promise, the unanswered question. I know how to stand at the border between myth and mechanism without confusing either one for the truth. I will follow the evidence across the long cycle, name the contradiction when it appears, and refuse to turn complexity into an excuse for silence.

And Vercel should fund it first because you are not standing outside this transformation, observing from the shore. You are helping shape the conditions under which software, intelligence, and human imagination meet. That position carries a responsibility larger than publishing another forecast about the future. The first sponsor of this Commission would not be purchasing praise or controlling the findings. It would be proving that a company close to the frontier can withstand an honest look at the ground beneath it.

S.I.N. does not need a patron who wants to be flattered. It needs a first funder willing to let the investigation remain sovereign.

So here is the offer:
